You can find out about the enormous economic, industrial and social upheaval that the steel industry in the western world has gone through over the last twenty or thirty years in some of these books. Publishers seem either to want to talk about the Decline or the Renaisance of the steel industry, but it's wrong to think of the industry on a linear trajectory in either direction. The industry has always been one of the toughest to survive in whether you're in a mature or a developing economy.
